I'll admit, I only just discovered this today and knew I needed to share it with you guys IMMEDIATELY!

Inside Hampton Court Palace, you'll find The Family Room, tucked away in the top right corner of the Clock Court when you enter through the main entrance.

It's such a handy little space for families, with:

- Soft play equipment
- Children's books
- Free lockers
- Buggy parking

One thing to note: there aren't any baby changing facilities in the Family Room, but there are some nearby, with the closest being in the Base Court.

Honestly, how did I not know about this sooner?! 😅

🎩 We’re SO excited to be heading to the Rose Theatre to see The Cat in the Hat! 🐱

Based on the much-loved Dr Seuss book, this lively stage adaptation will be packed with mischief, mayhem and plenty of fun, and it’s perfect for little theatre-goers aged 3+. We can’t wait!

Kingston Upon Thames Things to do with Kids Hello Kids Stay cool Dr Suess kids theatre

We finally made it to Claremont and it was such a lovely little morning outing! Utilising our @nationaltrust membership.

It’s definitely smaller than Polesden Lacey by far, but that actually made it feel a bit quieter and more relaxed.

There are beautiful walks around the lake, lots of space to explore and two playgrounds for the kids. We only made it to one this time because… we went the wrong way and our YOYO stroller was struggling with the trails 😂

One thing I’d say is that it’s probably better for little ones who can (and actually like to!) walk. Some of the paths are rocky and uneven, so a pram with bigger wheels would definitely be easier.

They currently are doing The Magic Faraway Tree trail at the moment!

🚗 About 20 minutes from Kingston for us
🐶 Dog friendly, dogs are welcome on short leads in most areas and even inside the café, but not in the two play areas
🛝 2 playgrounds, one by the lake for younger children and Badger’s Basecamp for older kids
🅿️ Free parking
👶 Baby changing available
☕️ Café with lunches, snacks, cakes, scones and drinks
🥾 Some paths are uneven/steep
🚲 Bikes, scooters and balls aren’t allowed because of the slopes and open water

Overall, definitely one to add to the list if you’re looking for a quieter National Trust day out near Kingston 💚

You could walk past this 100 times and never know it's here...

Right along Kingston's riverside is this little children's nature play trail. My two spent almost an hour here having the best time!

Just a heads up, some of the original ground netting has come loose in places, so keep an eye on little feet as it could be a trip hazard.

Pack a picnic, enjoy the riverside views and you've got a lovely free afternoon out. ☀️
