Somewhere between that first rainy attempt and yesterday’s sunshine… something clicked 🥹☀️

A couple of months ago we planned our first junior parkrun at Alexandra Park… and woke up to POURING rain.
He was so excited and still wanted to go so we couldn’t not try.

He didn’t finish that day.
But honestly? We were so proud of him for showing up, giving it a go, and pushing himself as far as he could 💛

We promised we’d come back when the weather was kinder…

Fast forward to yesterday ... blue skies, sunshine, and a very determined little runner.
He ran the WHOLE course without stopping 🥹👏

216 kids took part (!!) and the atmosphere was just incredible, supportive, encouraging, and such a lovely way to start a Sunday.

Post-run = coffee + treats at @coffee.otc
…and of course a stop at the playground to burn off whatever energy was somehow left 😂

Next up: trying Latchmere Recreation Ground with a friend 💛

If you’re looking for something positive, free, and genuinely feel-good to do with your kids this is IT.

Junior parkrun happens every Sunday at 9am, and there are loads of local options:

If you’ve been thinking about getting your child into dance, this is a great one to try: FREE taster sessions with @moderngroovez at The Warehouse.

4:00–4:45 (ages 4–5)
4:45–5:30 (ages 6–8)

🪩 Tuesday 14th Jazz Fusion
5:30–6:15 (ages 5–8)
6:15–7:00 (ages 9–13)

It’s the perfect way to see if it’s the right fit before committing, and they also run regular classes, performances, exams and camps if your child enjoys it.

Kingston Surbiton New Malden Hampton Wick

We (Alana & fam) went to the Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace yesterday and it was such a nice family day out

If you’re planning to go, here’s what to know 👇
- A trail map is available at each entrance to find all the bunnies
– The trail is completely outdoors (no bunnies inside the palace)
– Top tip: start in the Privy Garden and loop around the outside of the palace
– It took us around 1–1.5 hours at a relaxed pace
– Kids get a chocolate bunny at the end & last collection time is 4pm (sadly… just the kids get the chocolate 😑)
- Make sure to leave time for the Magic Garden!

My 4.5 year old LOVED being in charge of the map and leading us to the next bunny 🗺️ It really kept them engaged and excited to keep going

The history element is there at each stop, which my little ones weren’t into, but it definitely kept us adults interested along the way!

Overall, such a great way to get outside, explore the palace gardens
