Such a Kingston classic 💛

If you’ve been around the baby & toddler scene for a while, you’ll definitely know @craftytales2021 . Ellie has been running sessions locally for over a decade and it’s honestly become such a staple in our community.

When lots of weekly baby classes pause over half-term, Ellie & team are usually popping up with a Crafty Tales special at places like @wackykingdomkingston (or a few!) so it’s always worth keeping an eye out during the school holidays 👀

And if you’re looking for something weekly, she runs sessions across Kingston at places like @jollyjumps2024 (includes a play sessions too!) and local children’s centres.

What makes it so special?

Ellie puts her whole heart into every single session. From tiny 3-month-olds right up to 5 year olds, the children are completely captivated. No big props or flashy screens, just her storytelling, her energy, and her ability to get everyone involved. It’s actually incredible to watch.

There’s always little Boo-Boo (the real star of the show 🐻), plus the baby-class favourites… bubbles, parachutes, music and all the interactive fun you’d hope for.

A proper Kingston gem. If you know, you know 💫

Today we were so kindly gifted some treats from the newly opened Cake Box on Fife Road!

Firstly… WOW. The cakes all looked absolutely amazing, and the shop itself is so clean, bright and welcoming. The franchise owner, Seema, was sooo lovely and even gave my littles balloons which made their day 🎈

I don’t have many videos of us actually eating the treats because it was pure chaos (as always 😂) but trust me when I say they were DELICIOUS. The cakes were so fluffy and the frosting was perfectly divine 🤌🏼

1 train, 2 tubes… and absolutely worth it

Today we headed out of the borough to visit Young V&A in Bethnal Green and honestly I’d do that journey again today.

It’s definitely beyond Kingston, but if you’ve got a free day, inset day or adventurous little explorers, this is SUCH a good one.

Entry is completely free, with an additional cost if you’d like to visit the temporary exhibition. Open every day 10 - 5:45.

My kids’ highlights:

📚 Talking about what makes a story in Imagine

What I loved most is how beautifully thought out it is for children. The displays are lower down, genuinely accessible, and designed at their eye level so they’re not being lifted up to peer into glass cases. They can actually see, interact, explore and feel part of it. It doesn’t feel like a “museum for adults that children are allowed into” — it feels like a museum built for them (because it was).

And hello Walthamstow 👋🏻! We're collaborating on this with Hello Walthamstow Kids as it’s much closer to you geographically... but wherever you’re based, this one is worth travelling for.
