Dance might look like just twirls and giggles, but for preschoolers it’s doing so much more. Research shows activities like dance help children build coordination, balance, confidence and early social skills all while they’re just having fun.

That’s exactly what happens in the Movers classes (ages 3–4.5) with @babyballettwickenham

Expect jumping, spinning, imagination, music and lots of proud little dancers learning new things every week.

As climbers, our kids have been around ropes and harnesses since before they could walk. They’ve climbed outdoors with us and already have their own harness and shoes… so climbing is pretty normal life in our house.

But one thing I really love about the kids castle at @whitespiderclimbing is that you absolutely don’t need to be a climbing family to enjoy it.

The castle area is basically a mini climbing playground. The kids were traversing along the walls, disappearing through tunnels, and climbing around the different levels for ages.

If you are a (signed off) experienced climber, and they’re feeling brave, you can clip them into the auto-belays and try the big walls. They climb up and the system gently lowers them back down.

Good to know:
☕ The café is right next to the castle, so you can grab a coffee while still keeping an eye on them.
🅿️ Free parking on the estate outside.
💷 £6 per child
👶 The castle is designed for younger kids (3+), so it’s a really easy intro to climbing.

We were so kindly invited to press night at the @rosetheatrekingston and it was absolutely buzzing. Such a great reminder of how lucky we are to have a theatre like this on our doorstep.

Now, Our Town, it’s not one for little ones, this isn’t a family show, but it's definitely a heartfelt one for parents. The performances were subtle, honest, and quietly powerful in a way that pulls you in without needing anything flashy. And that’s actually one of the things that makes this production so clever.

Our Town (a play that’s been around for a long time for a reason) centres on something we’re constantly told but rarely truly absorb... slow down. Notice it. The ordinary bits. The everyday moments. We hear it in phrases like “smell the roses.” We see it in those posts about how, in this season of life, we ask for calm and quiet… but when we’re older, we’ll wish for noise and chaos and full houses again.

Seeing that message unfold live on stage hits differently. It’s more intimate. It lingers.

I came home, peeked in on my little ones sleeping, and just stood there for a moment longer than usual.

So, If you get the chance to see Our Town at the Rose Theatre, I really would.
