Be part of the parade that kick starts the Athel's Town Saxon weekend by securing your place at one of our Saxon drumming workshops.
Get Anglo-Saxon ready ahead of the Athel's Town: Saxon Encampment and Reenactment with one of the Saxon Shield Drumming workshops taking place across the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames this July.
Begin with a drumming tutorial where you will practice a coordinated drumming rhytm on your shield with the guidance of our experts from Kingston Community Drumming. You will then have the chance to decorate and personalise your shield for the remainder of the workshop with the materials provided. You are then invited to join as part of our drumming contigent in the Athel's Town parade on Saturday 26 July where you can show off your drumming skills and personalised shield!
