Pregnancy can be a full-on mix of excitement, exhaustion, and “what is happening to my body?!” Whether it’s your first time or your fourth (like me!), having a few go-to comforts can make a big difference.
I’ve put together my personal list of pregnancy essentials, what really helped me survive (and sometimes even enjoy) each trimester. These are real recommendations - things I genuinely found useful and loved.

🤰 First Trimester Must-Haves
That first trimester fatigue and nausea is no joke. Here’s what got me through the hardest stretch:
1. A Quality Multivitamin
This time, I’ve been taking the BioCare Methyl Pregnancy Multinutrient after a recommendation from a naturopath. It’s packed with what you need, and supporting your body early on makes a big difference.
2. Hot Water Bottle with a Fuzzy Cover
Whether it was cramps, nausea, or just needing comfort, this has been my nightly go-to. Bonus points if the cover is ridiculously soft.
3. Cozy PJs (ASOS FTW 🙌)
ASOS has the best maternity range for comfy PJs, lots of options, inclusive sizing, and super easy returns, which is ideal when you’re bloated and juggling other kids.
4. A Yeti Bottle
Second-trimester thirst hits early. This keeps my water ice-cold (even hours later), looks great, and actually fits in the pram cup holder. Game changer. I also swapped out the plastic straw for a stainless steel one from Amazon 👌
5. Clean Haircare
I’ve been using Green People Shampoo & Conditioner, no parabens, SLS, or silicones. Maybe it’s just peace of mind, but I love knowing I’m using clean products while my body is doing all the work.
6. Ginger Ale (Canada Dry 🇺🇸)
My go-to nausea fix. A little sweet, a little fizzy, and just enough ginger to settle the stomach. The American in me is loyal to Canada Dry, no substitutes!
7. A Local Support System
Whether you join a local pregnancy fitness class or find your people on apps like Peanut, building that support early can be such a lifeline.
🤰 Second & Third Trimester Must-Haves
Once the bump starts growing and the energy returns (somewhat), here’s what I’ve been loving in the second and third trimesters:
I’ve tried plenty, and this is the one. Super supportive, keeps me cool at night (blessing!), and feels way more luxe than cheaper Amazon options. Also great as a toddler barrier when they crawl into your bed at 3am 😆
Dalstons Sparkling Water
Refreshing, fizzy, and no artificial junk. It’s my summer go-to when I want something soda-like without the sugar. The cherry flavour is basically a healthy cherry coke and I’m not mad about it.
This is my first time trying Postpartum Plan and I wish I’d signed up sooner. It’s packed with gentle workouts, nourishing recipes, mental health support and podcasts, everything to help you feel emotionally and physically prepared. The chocolate apricot cookie recipe it a big hit in our house! Use our referral code and get a Bumper toolbox kit with extra added goodies included in your membership!

H&M Maternity Clothes
Affordable, comfortable, and surprisingly cute. I always go back to H&M for everyday basics that don’t scream “I’m pregnant” but still accommodate the bump. The app discounts are a great perk too.
M&S Men’s Baseball Caps
Not maternity, but essential. Great for sunny days and hiding that “I haven’t washed my hair in days” vibe. M&S men’s section comes through once again!
👶 A Note on Baby Buys
This isn’t my first rodeo, so I’ve already got most of the baby essentials. But I still love a little baby haul here and there, a few special pieces just for this bub. I’ll be sharing a newborn essentials list soon from the perspective of a seasoned mama who (technically) has it all but still gets excited every time she sees a tiny muslin.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or if there’s something you swear by, I love hearing what works for other parents! 💛
