Kingston offers so many great places to eat, but finding one that is good for young kids and can fit a single or double pram comfortably can be a bit tricky. With the help of local mums, I have compiled a great list below!
*I have a large double buggy so these all have passed the test!
Cafes
Apia Cafe
A cafe that is tucked away from the main streets. It is definitely one of the most spacious cafes in Kingston.
Jamaica Blue, 2nd Floor of Bentalls Centre
On the quiet end of the Bentalls Centre, there is a cafe with lots of seats, nice variety of all day breakfast foods and drinks, and plus side its right next to baby changing facilities.
Mimosa Cafe
Delicious Portuguese food, especially their dessert selection. Enough room to comfortably go in and grab some goodies, stay to eat or take to eat by the river! *No baby changing facilities
M&S Cafe
Always a solid go to, with food you know you will enjoy! Spacious and elevators are never too busy like some other stores are.
Old London Road Cafe
A lovely cafe off the main road, that has a nice and relaxing environment, lots of options for food and drinks and never have to worry about finding a seat. *No baby changing facilities
The Place to Eat and Huffkins- John Lewis cafes
Always a safe option, with lots of space, tables and food for everyone to enjoy. Little ones also can enjoy the view of the boats on the river!
Rose Theatre Cafe
Tons of room to meet up with friends and bring your buggies to enjoy a coffee or snack!
Open at 10am and closed on Sundays.
Pubs
Canbury Arms, KT2 6LQ
A lovely pub with stunning decor. We always try to sit outside when the weather allows- we always comfortably fit our double pram next to us. They offer highchairs and it's on a quieter road which is always nice. The Sunday roast is always a hit!
The Norbiton, KT2 6PW
A lovely neighborhood pub that has a large garden and delicious pizza, On Mondays they have £7 pizza starting from 5pm.
Lots of room inside and outside for little ones that need to roam and a foosball table for older kids to enjoy.
Queens Head, KT2 5HA
A good sized pub, that is ideal for warm weather days as they have a little garden and children's play area out back!
Spring Grove, KT1 2SF
A very spacious pub with outdoor space as well! This was recommended as a go-to by many local mums with young kids!
Restaurants
Bills
They are very accommodating for children, or if you are with a group. The weekends can get very busy but week days are quieter :)
Chakra
Delicious Indian food, and if you time it right you will have most of the restaurant to yourself! We usually go for a 4pm dinner and feels like we have the place to ourselves.
The Cheeky Pea, KT1 1BJ
Delicious middle eastern street food, high chairs available and never feel cramped even though in the middle of Kingston.
Only open for lunch
The Neighborhood Subs & Deli
Delicious and massive sandwiches, with lots of indoor seating, highchairs available and a long courtyard incase the little ones need to walk around.
Only open for lunch
The Pottery Tapas
A quirky tapas restaurant that has lovely outdoor space for the warmer days. The decor is so lovely inside and outside, and it is never too crowded during the day which is a plus!
Megans at the Griffin
A lovely brunch spot with beautiful interior! It can get a bit busy on the weekends but during the week it is a great place to meet up with friends, and always lots of little ones there :)
Ocean Basket
Tasty seafood with a very kid friendly atmosphere! Lots of space to park the pram by the door, kids menus with coloring pencils and the food comes out fast!
Leon (for 'healthier fast food')
I can always find space for my double buggy and lots of seating options! Considering it is on the high street, it is never too busy, even on the weekends which is always helpful.
Pho
Tasty Vietnamese food that really hits the spot especially on a cold day! Always has space during lunch time, and they always find a spot for the buggy to be parked out of the way.
Wendy's (for when you crave some fast food!)
I always find they have loads of tables and space available with an accessible bathroom. I find the breakfast times are super quiet (weekends especially we have been the only ones there!), and I am weak for an american style breakfast sandwich!
Let me know what your favorite, buggy friendly restaurant is! xx
